Pulse by BigBoost ("Pulse", "we", "us") is a service run by BigBoost, a performance marketing agency in Chennai, India. Pulse reads data from a store owner's Shopify store and ad accounts and sends a daily summary and answers to questions on WhatsApp. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it goes and how long we keep it.
It covers two groups of people: merchants, meaning the store owners and team members who use Pulse, and shoppers, meaning the customers of those stores, whose orders pass through Pulse when we calculate a store's numbers.
What we collect from merchants
- Your name, business name, email address and the WhatsApp numbers you ask us to send the brief to.
- The store and ad accounts you connect: your Shopify store address, your Meta ad account, and, when you connect them, your Google Ads account and Google Merchant Center account.
- The access tokens those services give us when you connect them. They are stored encrypted in transit and at rest in our database and are used only to read your data.
- The questions you send Pulse on WhatsApp and the answers Pulse sends back.
What we read from your connected accounts
- Shopify: orders, products, stock levels, store locations, abandoned checkouts, refunds and store analytics (visits, carts and checkouts).
- Meta Ads: spend, reach, clicks, purchases and purchase value by campaign, ad set and ad.
- Google Ads and Google Merchant Center (only if you connect them): campaign performance and product listing status.
Pulse only reads. It asks for read-only permissions and cannot edit products, refund orders, change prices or change campaigns.
Shopper data
Shopify order records contain shopper details such as names, email addresses, phone numbers and addresses. Pulse uses order records only to calculate store totals, for example sales, orders, new versus returning customers and sales by city. We do not store shoppers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or street addresses, we never contact shoppers, and shopper details are never included in a brief, an answer or anything sent to an AI model.
How we use data
- To write and send your daily brief and the images in it.
- To answer the questions you send on WhatsApp.
- To keep the service running: finding errors, preventing misuse and supporting you when you contact us.
We do not sell data, we do not use your store's data to advertise to you or anyone else, and we do not use it to train AI models.
AI processing
Pulse uses AI models to write the short notes in your brief and to answer your questions. The model receives your store's totals and the results of the lookups needed for your question, never shopper details. The providers we use do not train their models on data sent through their APIs.
Who processes data for us
| Provider | What they do for Pulse |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database for accounts, connections and stored daily totals |
| Hostinger | Server that runs the brief and the question answering |
| Vercel | Hosts the Pulse dashboard |
| Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform) | Delivers WhatsApp messages |
| Anthropic, OpenRouter | AI models for brief notes and answers |
| Shopify, Meta, Google | The platforms you connect; we read data from them through their APIs |
How long we keep data
- Daily store totals: for as long as your store is connected, so Pulse can compare each day with your usual day.
- Brief images: 21 days.
- Questions and answers: 90 days.
- When you uninstall the Pulse app, Shopify cancels our access straight away, and we delete the store's stored data within 30 days. When you disconnect an account in the dashboard, we delete its access token straight away. When Shopify sends us a data deletion request for a store or a shopper, we act on it within 30 days.
Your choices
- Pause the brief at any time by replying PAUSE or STOP on WhatsApp, or remove a WhatsApp number by contacting us.
- Disconnect any account from the Pulse dashboard, or from the platform itself (for example by uninstalling the app in Shopify).
- Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, through our contact page.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access tokens and stored data are encrypted at rest by our database provider. Access to production systems is limited to the BigBoost team members who run Pulse.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell merchants on WhatsApp or by email before it takes effect.
